Elston Vets Sustainability Statement

Reviewed December 2024

Elston Veterinary Clinic Ltd recognises that climate change is real, and that everyone, including our veterinary practice, must take steps to reduce their carbon emissions urgently if we are to avert the catastrophic increase in global temperature.

We are committed to the continual improvement of our environment performance in relation to our services/products and our operations.

We recognise that the key impacts from veterinary practices are associated with waste disposal and our consumption of resources especially energy and water.

To help us achieve our goals in becoming more sustainable for the environment, we are working toward the INVESTORS IN THE ENVIRONMENT Bronze accreditation.

We are committed to working with our suppliers, regulatory bodies, staff and customers to achieve our aims.

  1. Reduce our consumption of energy and raw materials used in our daily work and our transport.
  2. Re-use as much of the materials we use as possible.
  3. Recycle anything we cannot re-use to reduce our waste and reduce our contribution to methane, carbon dioxide, and other damaging gases.
  4. Meet and where possible exceed all environmental regulations relevant to our organisation and its activities.
  5. Systematically assess all aspects of our company
  6. Set targets for measurable annual or more regular improvements
  7. Embrace environmentally conscious behaviours and protocols within the clinic.

All of our aims apply to all our staff and sites, where we can this will also apply to suppliers we select to work with.

Theses aims will be measured annually with the use of audits on waste and discussions within our staff meetings to make our goals achievable with everyone’s input and strive.
